In my work, I seek to recreate the primal buzz and excitement of being in the moment, enjoying live music, light shows, and fashion. My starting point was the immediacy of the Polaroid --an intimate document of a night out at the club. Because most of the people I have encountered though nightlife are of the queer community, my work reflects an acknowledgment of the growing visibility of these groups in spite of the daily threats they face. It is part of a broader language I have observed in music, celebrations and socializing - something radical and new that compelled me to go out and explore.
